Man on bed
Back to St Emlyn's Reception

You complete the secondary survey, place a drain in the right side of the chest because of suspicion of a pneumothorax and then take the (stable) patient to CT scan.

You discuss the cervical spine x-rays with the radiologist. You have a protocol that mandates C1/2 in all head CT scans of unconscious patients. You are not entirely happy with C7 / T1 and no AP has been done yet. In view of this the radiologist agrees to run down the whole C Spine.
