A rapid clinical examination reveals the following.
A patent airway, a respiratory rate of 40 with a clear chest and equal air entry. She has a heart rate of 170 (sinus) and a capillary refill of 6 seconds. She only responds to pain on the AVPU scale. Pupils are mid size and reactive.
A BM is taken and comes back at 5.6
You also take an arterial blood gas from the femoral artery.
