Are we complying with the departmental guidelines for the use of APC in sepsis.

Retrospective review of cases admitted to ITU/HDU with sepsis.

Activated Protein C usage.
Compliance with the criteria.

Comments

The purpose of this audit is to assess patients presenting with sepsis to the ITU. The aim is to measure the number of patients who fulfilled the criteria for the use of APC and how many had contra-indications. The auditors can then use the medical notes to assess how many people received APC appropriately/inappropriately and how many patients were suitable for APC but did not receive it!
