A 34 year old woman is brought to the ED by ambulance.

She has a history of brittle asthma and is well known to the respiratory physicians at your hospital. She became unwell in the last 90 minutes. There is no history from the patient and you do not know what the precipitant is.

Her current meds include
Salbutamol inhalers
A subcutaneous Bricanyl infusion
Prednisolone 5mg / day
Uniphyllin orally

She has been admitted to ITU on 3 previous occasions as a result of asthma exacerbations.
